| Staged every two years in August at Mareeba airport (on the Atherton Tableland), the Mareeba Warbirds Airshow is a popular fixture on the far north Queensland calendar and one of the biggest airshows in Australia.
In 2000, the airshow will be held on August 6. There are more than 40 planes on display with an emphasis on military and vintage aircraft. At the year 2000 airshow there will also be army helicopters and a display by the spectacular RAAF (Royal Australian Airforce) aerobatic team, the Roulettes. Aimed at families and not just aviation aficionados, the show includes amusement rides, market stalls, vintage cars and bikes, go-karts and model planes.
