Teams like ours comprise of journalists, photographers, videographers that research and update the site, and agents, managers and accountants that allow you to prebook through the site. It's a fun mix. So DestinationEX is an odd lot, we love our life, our art, our fun and our adventure, but we believe in getting it together. The DestinationEx Team Roderick Davis Kathy Traverso Albert Jindra Roderick Davis Head Honcho of DestinationEX Rod Davis is the man with the plan; the individual mostly responsible for the site you’re surfing now. A colorful Sydneysider, Rod graduated from the University of NSW with a Bachelor of Building and quickly made his mark as a project manager extraordinaire in the Sydney construction industry. Heading north to Port Douglas in the early 1990s, Rod realised the tourism potential of Tropical North Queensland and how the internet would radically change the globe-trotting world. In 1998, after gathering together a merry band of journos, computer techs, graphic designers and editors, DestinationEX was born. Rod’s management skills, not to mention his outrageously psychedelic personality and boundless energy, have combined to inspire the most innovative and funky on-line travel service ever to explode onto the world wide web. Rod’s passions include electronica music which has resulted in DestinationEx’s own dance radio station, Trip FM, hitting the airwaves. Kathy Traverso DestinationEX Manager Kathy is one of those rare, "what you see is what you get" kind of chicks with a genuine talent for having fun, even on Monday mornings! Kath’s outgoing personality and level-headed approach make her the queen of cool at DestinationEx. Born in the wilds of Kenya, Kath moved downunder to Perth, Western Australia, at the age of 10 and completed her education with a Bachelor of Business from Edith Cowan University. Since moving to North Queensland eight years ago, Kathy has lived and breathed tourism. Her experience in the industry includes a stint at the exclusive resort, Bedarra Island, managing an accommodation and tour retail office in Port Douglas and several years working in the dive industry. Kathy’s extensive, hands-on knowledge of the local region makes her the brains (and beauty!) of DestinationEX. Albert Jindra Web Master Czech-born Albert Jindra is the "quiet achiever" of DestinationEX. A multimedia specialist, his programming skills, particularly in Java-script, Flash script and CGI script, put him in a unique position in the DestinationEx world. Albert studied for five years at the University of Chemical Technology in Prague, focusing on computer design, print technology and post production. Recently, he has run his own business, designing multimedia products, and has also taught DTP programs. Albert’s passion for photographic virtual reality led to the creation of an outstanding CD ROM – Prague Virtualis - a virtual tour through Prague, produced in cooperation with Barrandov, Czechoslovakia’s biggest film maker. A dab hand with on-screen animation, his credits include the films, Crackerjack II, Sleeping Dogs and Death Fire.
